Fools in Paradise

A philosophical & cultural project

We are all fools in paradise.

A study of how to be awake for an ordinary, finite life — conducted at cosmic altitude and lived at street level. On the bike, on the page, on the screen.

What this is

Paradise was never the destination. It is the condition — this one, mistaken daily for something we are still waiting to begin.

Fools in Paradise is the practice of noticing it before it's gone: a reckoning with duality and mortality, discipline and escape, meaning and the lack of it. We take these questions seriously, and we refuse to be solemn about them.

The work takes three forms — the ride, the written word, and the film. Different instruments, one inquiry: what does it ask of a person to live deliberately, here, now, while there's still time.

The rides

Fool's Gold is our recurring ride.

We organize, arrange, and conduct recreational group cycling rides and cycling events — long routes, early starts, the kind of distance that empties the mind and hands it back sharper than it was. The bike is not the identity. It's the instrument: a way to put the body somewhere demanding enough that the noise finally drops out.

Open to anyone willing to suffer a little for the view.

The newsletter

An online newsletter in the field of philosophy, culture, and cycling.

Quiet, infrequent, and written for people who would rather sit with one true paragraph than scroll a feed of noise. No growth hacks, no filler, no audience-chasing — the quieter issues are how the right readers find their way in.

Film & video

In production

Starchasers is our first film.

It marks the beginning of a series of films, alongside the ongoing production and distribution of videos in the field of philosophy, culture, and cycling — the inquiry rendered in image and motion rather than only in words.

Screenings and releases will be announced through the newsletter first.
